Yesterday I went to Senator Wyden's town hall at Astoria High School and watched him tap dance around some very pertinent health care questions. As Mayor Van Dusen in his introduction of the senator noted, Mr. Wyden has been representing Oregon for the past 30 years. In my humble estimation, Ron has been hoofing it far too long. I kept waiting for someone to bring out the hook and yank him off stage.
Sen. Wyden is absolutely for healthcare reform before he's against it after he'll vote for it.
Where this all becomes "fascinating" is on my way home from work tonight I was listening to KGO out of San Francisco and the announcer read an e-mail of some woman who was calling people in Massachusetts from her home in California to vote for Martha Coakley to keep Ted Kennedy's seat in the hands of the Democrats in order to pass the healthcare bill.
It seems this health care issue is a cancer on our nation that has far too many side effects for the average voter to figure out let alone experienced legislators.
And I won't even got into Obama's behind closed door meeting today with the union thugs from the AFL-CIO, SEIU and the UAW. That bit of illogic right there would be enough to send Spock back to the planet Vulcan.
