Disability

Dear Mr. Larson:

Recently a friend began to receive disability payments for her migraines after working five years for the federal government tax department in downtown Portland. Lately I find it hard for me to be sympathetic towards her since I feel it's been a "planned retirement". My question is, when on disability does one have to pay taxes and do they receive free medical since they do not hold a job? By the way, she loves our president and thinks he is being misunderstood!

I've noticed the friends and family who've all been proud of being liberal tend to need help (mostly financial) in their lives. I'm beginning to feel I am becoming very cynical in my old age.

Anyway, I would appreciate any information you might have pertaining to the above questions.

Muslim Building

Dear Lars. Your guest was right on. The Muslims are now here to take over and Obama is encouraging it. Bloomberg is a jerk in going along with this. Con Ed says we love diversity, but they are wrong too. very interesting. I am from New YOrk and understand the situation. I feel as if the cards are stacked against us Americans since Obama got in. Every extreme liberal has come out of the woodwork. Con Ed really surprises me.
I hope people are listening to your guests, because you are doing great job.

Iran Unveils New Submarines

More danger here from Iran once the attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities begin as they must if Israel is to survive and Iran is to be stopped from controlling much of the Middle East. The Arab states fear their Iranian/Persian neighbors. The Persians are not Arabs. The world is going to get much more dangerous soon. Israel has to act. The fear is what will Obama do or will he do anything? Is Obama going to just vote 'present' as he did as Senator in the Illinois Senate over 125 times? Even if the US just watches Israel attack Iran, Iran will blame the US and try to close the gulf. To destroy Iran's capacity to shut down Gulf shipping will require massive US air and sea attacks on the Gulf shores and under as well as on the surface of the Gulf. Those in the Pentagon war planning this have many, many targets and concerns.

Kitzhaber

Isn't it ironic that the Kitzhaber campaign is running a TV commercial with Kitz himself talking about how we Oregonians can't "afford to cling to the past"! I wonder if he even realizes just how ironically truthful that statement is?
